Cultivation-Plan, Production And Production-Costs Agriculture In A Few Municipalities Of The Provinces Of Antwerp And East-Flanders (Early 19th Century): Since the middle of the 19th century censuses of the cultivated area, the crop-quantities and the yield-factors obtained have no more been exceptional. This information, which is undoubtedly important, should, however, be approached with some distrust, as the data were gathered by inexpert people in a rather shady period (years of occupation) and from a refractory population. Contribution To The Study Of The Belgian Agricultural Production 1846-1913: As early as 1830 agriculture was by far the main activity of the country and its relative perfection made it an example for most of the other european states. In 1846 its production was more than 7/10 of the whole physical output, although the crisis of the linen industry and the potato disease had already endangered the prosperity of the land. Industrial growth overturned technology as well as the markets.

A Medieval-Like Conflict During The 19Th Century Oignies-En-Thierache: The Affair Of The 520 "Bonniers (1): Oignies-en-Thiérachea little village in a forest area owned woods the profits of which were shared by the villagers during the 16th century. Moreover, the latter enjoyed the right to use the woods of their lords, the barons of Vierves, vassals of the principality of Liège.

Belgium And Rumania In The 19th Century: There appear to have existed relations between Rumania and the Netherlands as early as the middle-ages. The Belgian revolution and the very liberal constitution of the new Belgian state were viewed with considerable sympathy in the press of the Danubian principalities. After the revolution was crushed in Rumania in 1848, some of the people fled to the West, including Belgium, and it is in that country that Cetan Boliac and C.A. Rosetti published La république roumaine and L'Etoile du Danube.

Metrology Of The The Coaltrade At Liege In The 19Th Century: When they try to calculate the production of the collieries of Liège, historians use the cartload, and at that a uniform cartload of 1.800 kilos. Actually, in the first half of the past century two different kinds of carts (the "tombereau de Liège" and the "voiture de Meuse") were used. Neither of them had a uniform capacity, even if in 1844 it was decided that the former should be equal to 16 hectoliters, the latter equal to 24 hectoliters.
