Magaly RODRIGUEZ (KU Leuven)
Magaly Rodriguez Garcia doceert geschiedenis bij de onderzoeksgroep Modernity and Society (1800-2000) van de KU Leuven. Haar onderzoek richt zich vooral op de Verenigde Naties en hun strijd tegen mensenhandel, prostitutie en slavernij. Ze behaalde in 2008 haar doctorstitel aan de Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Met haar doctoraalscriptie 'Trade Unionists and the World: European and Latin American Labour and the Creation and Maintenance of International Trade-Union Organisations, 1949 – 1969' (published by Peter Lang in 2010) won ze de ‘Labor History Dissertation Prize 2008’. Sinds 2014 is ze ook lid van de Europese COST-actie 'Comparing European Prostitution Policies: Understanding Scales and Cultures of Governance'.
