Anne ROEKENS (UNamur)

Anne Roekens is professor in contemporary history at the Université de Namur. She obtained her PhD. at the UCL with a study of the role of the RTBF in the development of Walloon identity in the last forty years of the twentieth century. She teaches iconographic analysis of the history of propaganda in the twentieth century at the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix in Namur. Her research focuses on media history, the analysis of audiovisual documents and the construction of a collective identity in Belgium. More recently she has carried out research on the history of social movements and the history of psychiatry.
